Ban Phasang village is located in Vientiane Province and has more than 4,815 inhabitants in 720 households. More than 80% of the villagers are farmers and 20% are involved in small-scale trade. The average monthly income per household is estimated at Fr. 19.00. Before the construction of the well, more than half of the villagers spent about Fr. 8.00 per month on bottled water. The others had to walk one to two hours a day to reach the nearest, dangerously polluted water point.

This well was built in February 2018 and was financed by a Geneva Foundation.
